IPSR member participated in the 9th EUROSEAS Conference
During 16th – 18th August 2017, IPSR members, including Asst. Dr. Manasigan Kanchanachitra, Dr. Dusita Phuengsamran, and Ms. Pattraporn Chuenglertsiri attened the 9th EUROSEAS conference at the Oxford University, Oxfordshire, the United Kingdom. As an international and multi-disciplinary organisation, EuroSEAS invites scholars and PhD students from all academic disciplines with an interest in Southeast Asia to present papers on research in the field of Southeast Asian Studies.
Dr. Manasikarn Kanchanachitra and Ms. Pattraporn Chuenglertsiri co-authored the paper titled “Thai Way or My Way?: A Qualitative Study of Integration and Well-being among Long-term European Migrants in Thailand. Dr. Dusita Phuengsamran had been working with Professor Paul Statham of the University of Sussex on the research “The Search for a Better Life: How Partnerships with “Older” Westerners Shape Thai Life Changes, Social Relationships and Development”. The two papers were presented in the panel on “Transnational Migrations and gendered motilities between Europe and Thailand’ on 18th August 2017.
